Knocked & Recovery

A hit that would kill you usually leaves you Knocked on 1 HP instead. Your health has a recovery ceiling that long fights wear down, and quitting mid-fight is punished.

Knocked

  • A lethal hit leaves you on 1 HP, limp on the floor, unable to act or be hit.
  • After 25 s you get up with 25% HP and 30% stamina.
  • For 4 s after getting up, a lethal hit leaves you on 1 HP instead.
  • Others can Carry (V) a knocked body: the knock timer pauses while you're carried.
  • Grip (B) finishes a knocked body. Force feeding (X) gets it back up.
  • You can't reset your character to escape a knock.

Recovery tips

One big hit mostly heals back during the fight, but a long combo of small hits grinds your recoverable health away. Regen starts 5 s after you've gone 10 s without a hit. Cuts and scars slow it down.

Respawning

  • After death you become a ghost and wait 3 s, plus 4 s per scar.
  • While waiting you can spectate living players.
  • Every spawn gives you a force field: nobody can hurt you.
  • It ends once you walk 12 studs from your spawn or do anything (attack, block, train, carry).
  • There are no safe zones: going back to spawn doesn't give it back.

Combat tag and leaving

Combat tag

20 s
  • Hitting or blocking a player tags you both for 20 s.
  • While tagged: no switching character slots and no clinic.
  • Type "mb <name>" or "mb all" in chat to take back tags you dealt.

Combat logging

Penalty
  • Leaving while tagged: you rejoin on 1 HP, injured for 300 s.
  • No health regen for 60 s, and you lose all your items, training tools included.
  • A server shutdown doesn't count as a combat log.

Joining hurt

1 HP
  • Leave below full HP and you start your next session on 1 HP.
  • You regen normally from there. Dying clears it.

Killed by a player

Item loss
  • Each item has a 10% chance to be lost, up to 50% more with a notorious killer.
  • Training tools are never lost to a death. Dying to a fall or an NPC loses nothing.

Trivia

  • A single hit worth 20% of your HP still lets you recover to about 96% during the fight.
